Counseling Faculty
Location: Asheville, NC
The College of Education and Human Services seeks applications for three full-time, tenure-track positions on the Asheville Campus of Lenoir-Rhyne University. These appointments are designed as nine-month, continuing positions in the School of Counseling and Human Services to serve in the center supporting the university’s CACREP-accredited M.A. in Counseling program. The appointments are based in Asheville, NC.
The positions will teach graduate courses and carry an 18-hour load (nine hours per term) each year. These are not remote positions and will require in-person teaching and regular office hours at the Lenoir-Rhyne Asheville Center. A terminal degree in Counseling and/or Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited institution is required. Preferred candidates will possess the credentials and experience to offer courses in clinical mental health counseling and/or school counseling. Evidence of exemplary college teaching experience is strongly preferred. Familiarity with and willingness to develop and deliver courses utilizing a variety of modalities including in-person, online and other non-traditional pedagogies is required.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to collaborate closely with LR’s Admission Office to maintain enrollments and sustain strong partnerships with clinical placement sites in the field. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student mentorship, scholarly and professional engagement and campus citizenship. Candidates who are ABD (All but Dissertation) are encouraged to apply for this position. Salary and rank will be adjusted to reflect the ABD status.
To be eligible for a fall hire, official confirmation of the successful dissertation defense must be submitted by July 31st. The anticipated start date is August 12, 2025, contingent upon final budgetary approval.
